Description
The Story
This is the linalool chemotype, known as sweet, true or European basil. It is sweeter and gentler than other basil types, which makes it better suited for use on the skin. A little methyl chavicol adds the light anise note. Basil is highly valued in Ayurveda for lifting mental energy.
Benefits
- Mind — A fresh, uplifting scent that helps restore alertness and concentration, eases mental fatigue and brings calm on stressful days.
- Focus & Meditation — Helps clear the mind and is often used in meditation blends.
- Skin — Rich in antioxidants; a small amount in a diluted blend helps oily, blemish-prone skin look clearer and skin feel firmer.
- Massage — Diluted in a carrier oil, it is a warming choice for tired, tense muscles.
How to Use
Diffuse a few drops, add to natural perfume blends, or dilute in a carrier oil for massage and skincare.
