WHY LICORICE & PU-ERH?

Licorice Root

Licorice has a long history of use in botanical skincare and is particularly associated with soothing and complexion-care formulations.

Through steam distillation, the resulting hydrosol captures the lighter aromatic fraction of the botanical rather than functioning like a concentrated licorice extract.

In this formula, it contributes to the hydrosol’s gentle, calming character and naturally soft herbal aroma.

Pu-erh Tea

Pu-erh is a fermented tea made from Camellia sinensis, known for its deep, earthy and mellow tea character.

Steam distillation captures its delicate volatile aromatic profile, giving this hydrosol its distinctive clean, comforting tea scent.

Together, Pu-erh and licorice create a hydrosol that feels remarkably light yet leaves the skin looking fresh and refined.

This is not our richest hydrating hydrosol.

If your main concern is dehydration, a more moisture-focused hydrosol such as Rose or Anredera Cordifolia may be a better choice.

Choose Licorice & Pu-erh when your skin looks tired or dull and your priority is a fresh, clear and radiant appearance.

HOW TO USE

01 · DAILY FACIAL MIST

After cleansing, lightly mist over the face and neck. Gently press into the skin and follow with serum, facial oil or moisturizer.

Reapply throughout the day whenever the skin needs refreshing.

02 · WET COMPRESS

Generously saturate cotton pads with the hydrosol and apply to areas of concern for 5–10 minutes.

Ideal when the complexion looks tired or dull.

03 · MASK ACTIVATION

Use in place of plain water to activate a freeze-dried or compressed facial mask.

Fully saturate the mask, apply to clean skin and leave on according to the mask directions.

This is one of our favourite ways to use Licorice & Pu-erh Hydrosol.

04 · HYDRO INFUSION RITUAL

Saturate a high-retention mask sheet with the hydrosol and apply over your skincare or gel mask.

Leave on for approximately 10 minutes, then remove and gently press any remaining moisture into the skin.

Follow with your usual moisturizer.
